Shop Small and Support Local this Saturday in Downtown Evansville
Downtown Evansville is gearing up for the 13th Annual Small Business Saturday® on November 25, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Organized by the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID), this event promises a day full of festivities, exclusive deals, and a chance to explore the vibrant local businesses that define the city's unique character.
Supporting Local, Building Community
"All year long, we emphasize the importance of shopping small, but the biggest shopping day for our shops is Small Business Saturday," shares Adam Trinkel, the Executive Director of EID. "Shopping small goes beyond individual transactions; it fuels real economic growth by creating jobs, fostering business ownership opportunities, contributing to the tax base, and ensuring that a significant portion of every dollar stays within the local community."
Downtown Delights Await
The EID is set to kick off the day at 318 Main Street, distributing maps, buttons, and limited-quantity custom Shop Downtown bags, courtesy of Heritage Federal Credit Union, starting at 9 AM. For those eager to wear their support, Downtown Evansville branded attire will be available for purchase.
As you stroll along Main Street from 2nd to 6th Streets, you'll encounter individual stores featuring special discounts, and unique specialty vendors offering everything from trendy clothing to delectable baked goods. The atmosphere will be complemented by live music from local musicians, creating a lively backdrop to your shopping adventure.
Exclusive Goodies for Shoppers
Brick-and-mortar merchants will have a limited supply of free tote bags for shoppers. Additionally, a new and exciting addition for 2023 is the Shop Small Passport. When you make a purchase at any of the 10 participating locations, collect stamps on your passport for a chance to win gift cards to Downtown businesses. The more stamps you accumulate, the greater your chances of winning. Passports will be distributed at each business and can be returned to the EID tent at 318 Main Street by 3 PM on Saturday.
