The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville, which serves youth across four tri-state locations, uses the funds raised from the raffle to provide year-round programming that helps kids develop academically, socially, and physically.

“It’s not just about selling tickets,” shared Shanna Groeninger, Director of Development & Marketing. “It’s about making sure our kids have a safe place to grow, learn, and achieve their dreams.”

A Lucky Win for a Great Cause

Retired Vanderburgh County Sheriff, Dave Wedding, just won the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville's “Trip of a Lifetime” raffle, and he couldn’t be more thrilled! The raffle, a major fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club, gives ticket buyers the chance to choose from over 20 incredible vacation experiences, each package designed to be a dream getaway for two. From sun-soaked Hawaii to the prestigious Masters Tournament, there’s an adventure to suit every taste.

Wedding, a long-time supporter of the Boys & Girls Club, bought his raffle ticket during the organization’s annual golf scramble. Little did he know, he’d soon be choosing his own travel adventure!

The raffle brought in around 700 ticket sales, helping support these valuable programs. When the drawing took place at noon yesterday, excitement was high. And for Wedding, winning was an unexpected joy. “I just bought a ticket to support the cause; I wasn’t even thinking about winning!” he shared with a smile. His genuine passion for the mission behind the Boys & Girls Club makes his win even more meaningful.

10 Reasons Why This Kentucky Family Spends Every Vacation They Can at Disney World

When I tell people that we vacation at Disney World and have since my twin boys were 10 months old, the first question people usually ask me is, “Are you okay?” But the second question I get asked is, “What do you love so much about it?” Well, “I think so,” for the first question, and, “Everything,” for the second.

But saying I love everything about Disney World is kind of like me saying I love all my kids equally. It’s true, of course, but not a satisfying answer (Love you guys, equally)!
