Prince had a big hit in the early '80s with the song "Little Red Corvette." Well, here's your chance to slide behind the wheel of a blue one! The annual Saint Bernard Summer Social is coming up on Sunday, August 18th and the main attraction is a raffle. The prize is a 1966 Corvette convertible. Oh, and there's a chance to win some cash too.

The Saint Bernard Summer Social will be held on the church grounds at 6th and Pearl Street in Rockport, Indiana. Naturally, there's going to be food and a lot of it. The church will be selling 'faux turtle soup." There will also be homemade fried chicken, roast beef dinners, and homemade dumplings available too. You can choose to dine in the St. Bernard gym (it's air conditioned) or you can carry it out. Serving starts at 11am!

When I said there would be lots of food, I wasn't kidding. There is also a huge outdoor food court that features burgers, brats, tenderloins, and soup by the bowl. There will also be homemade ice cream for dessert.

In addition to food, there will be games for all ages. Those games include a cake wheel, money wheel and various games for kids.

But, like I mentioned earlier, the star of the show is the collection of raffles taking place. There's a big money raffle that features a grand prize of $1000 and a second prize of $500. There's also a quilt raffle, grocery raffle, canopy raffle, Adirondack chairs raffle and  . . . the main event . . . the 1966 Corvette convertible raffle.

All raffle drawings will be held at 3pm CDT. If you'd like to purchase tickets for the Corvette raffle in advance, you can do so now by calling 812-649-9113. Tickets are $30 a piece or you can buy four tickets for $100.
