Our Fun Afternoon at Preservation Station in West Louisville
A couple of Saturdays ago, the weather was absolutely beautiful here in Daviess County. We wanted to take a country drive with the windows down and the music up, and we all love to piddle and look around at antiques and vintage treasures.
It had been a LONG time since I'd been out to Preservation Station. The old West Louisville Elementary School was transformed into a vendor mall back in 2012, and ever since, it has been a hotspot for many reasons. It is such a unique experience walking the halls and classrooms that have been assigned to various vendors.
The selection of items is great too because you have everything from primitive items to Victorian-era antiques, to mid-century modern decor, to toys from the 80s & 90s, shabby chic furniture, and modern trends in clothing and accessories. It is literally a journey through the years!

We had the best time laughing at some of the funny finds. Remembering the good old days thanks to the booths packed with nostalgia and knick-knacks that made us think of our grandma's house. There is SO MUCH to look at. Just when you think you've seen it all? Oh! There's another doorway that leads to another treasure trove.

Once we made our way around the main floor and popped into the gymnasium for some arts and crafts, we decided to head downstairs. There is a GREAT photo op down there and, of course, more booths to explore (a couple of my faves are down there!)

That is also where the old cafeteria is located, and they still serve up food! I've heard the buffet is AMAZING. Unfortunately, we had already eaten, but we definitely have plans to go back and try it out as soon as we can. The Preservation Station Family Restaurant is open Thursday-Saturday 11- 2 PM and Sunday 10- 2 PM.

We finished up and headed to the old front desk office upstairs to check out. Two of the sweetest ladies, Mrs. Barnett and Mrs. Munier, checked us out, and we were on our way! My fam happily cooperated for a family photo by the adorable fall decorations, and we headed back to town.
If you are looking for a fun place to spend the afternoon, head on out to Preservation Station. They are located at 9661 Highway 56, Owensboro, KY, United States, 42301, and their hours are Thursday through Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
