6 Must-Attend Kentucky Music Festivals in 2026
I don't know if it's because we are fairly centrally located in the U.S. or we just so happen to have a high concentration of musicians AND fans, but Kentucky summers are jam-packed with incredible opportunities for live music. Here are five of the most popular festivals in the state, plus a bonus one that I couldn't leave out!
Railbird Festival in Lexington, KY, June 6th-7th

World-class Country, Rock, and Americana artists take the stage in the infield of the Red Mile racing track. Here's who will be performing this year and how to get tickets. Owensboro fellas, Sons of Habit are on the list!

Although the line-up for this festival has not been released yet this year, one of music's biggest superstars has announced an appearance in this area during this time frame, but it has yet to be confirmed that Healing Appalachia is his venue. Fingers crossed!. Billy Strings is mentioned a few times in this comment thread. As well as folks already claiming to have their hotel rooms booked for the weekend. Here's the website to learn more about this festival's meaningful cause. Follow them on Facebook to await the list of performers!
Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY, September 17th-20th
The ULTIMATE rock and metal festival happens right smack dab in the middle of Bluegrass Country. Seven stages of the best current acts and rock history legends, located at the Kentucky Expo Center. Concert-goers also have access to Kentucky Kingdom, where they can ride rides and swim in between sets, which makes for a really special experience. Check out this EPIC list of performers for this year.
Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, KY, September 24th-27th
Kentucky Expo Center is the place to BE in September. Especially if you like delicious food and the best brown water you've ever had. Because what goes better with your favorite music than happy taste buds? Chris Stapleton on stage and culinary experiences galore? Foo Fighters and fresh Kentucky Proud food demos? Dave Matthews Band and Bourbon tastings? Sounds BEYOND the normal music festival.
Music Festival Marathon?
OK, so the way these festivals are scheduled, you could basically go on a music festival marathon. Just bounce around for the whole month of June or the whole month of September from one campsite to another, living it up! While that may not be realistic for most folks, it would be pretty fun! If you had to choose only one festival from this list, which would it be?
