This morning, I stepped outside and had to turn right back around to grab a long-sleeve shirt. It was crisp and cool—definitely a change from the summer heat we've been having.

I’ll admit, I’m a summer person through and through. I love the hot temperatures, pool days, and wearing shorts. When the weather starts to cool down, I do get a bit bummed because it means winter is just around the corner.

But since it’s still August, we’ve got a bit more summer left to enjoy. In recent years, temps haven’t really dropped in the tri-state until October. We even had to pack shorts and tank tops for our October camping trips the last few years. I’m not complaining—summer is definitely my season. Still, this week is a bit of a shock with highs dipping into the low 80s and even high 70s, a big shift from the high 80s and 90s we’ve been seeing.

Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service in Paducah for the Southern Indiana/Western Kentucky area:

Well, then things are going to heat up for the weekend.

Holy moly! Did I really just see 97 degrees? Jiminity Christmas!

Well, I did say I like it hot. It looks like it’s going to be a perfect weekend for some pool time, rocking shorts and tank tops, and enjoying a popsicle or two.
