If you are looking for good craft beers, a list like this is pretty valuable.

Mashed put together a list of The Best Craft Beer in Every US State, and I have to say I was kind of surprised to see what they had picked for Illinois. Primarily, because I'm not super familiar with it, but Mashed seems to love it.

Cruz Blanca Named Illinois’ Standout Brewery

They said Cruz Blanca is a "standout brewery in the Windy City that made a name for itself with Tepache Cowboy, a Mexican lager that's aged in añejo mezcal barrels with fermented pineapple and spices."

I'm intrigued. Try it yourself at Cruz Blanca, 904 West Randolph Street in Chicago.

Wisconsin’s Pick: New Glarus and the R&D Line

If you thought New Glarus was a slam dunk for Wisconsin, you'd be correct. Mashed talked about the R&D line of beers they have, which are limited-time variety releases that fans and collectors clamor for.

The Craft Beer Fans’ Favorite in Illinois Stores

While I do enjoy a nice New Glarus beer and would absolutely support an Illinois brewery, there is one place that is so good I was legit excited when I found out they were selling their beer in Illinois.

I'm talking about Zombie Dust from 3 Floyds Brewing Co. in Munster, Indiana. Mashed feels the same way about the stuff, too.

This highly coveted American Pale Ale was first released in 2010 and was difficult to find outside of its local area, creating a huge hype around the brew while also branding it the holy grail of hop-forward American ales.

Located at 9750 Indiana Parkway in Munster, it's worth the pilgrimage if you're a beer fan. When I made my way over, the place was packed, but worth the while.

Are you a craft beer fan? What's your best?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
