If you had to guess what the best beverage was in Indiana, what would you say? I'd be willing to bet, you'd be wrong.

There are an endless amount of options when it comes to beverages in Indiana. Juice, milk, soda, coffee, tea, heck even alcoholic beverages can be found anywhere. Everyone has their own go-to beverage. Personally, I have a sweet tea problem. It's my favorite thing to drink. When you want to wet your whistle, what do you prefer?

Well, the folks over at Reader's Digest partnered with the website, Taste of Home, to find the best beverage in every U.S. state. Some are pretty normal, while others you may not have heard of before, especially if you aren't from that state. That being said, when it comes to Indiana's "best beverage" it is one you have most certainly heard of no matter where you are from, but it's far from the beverage that any of us would expect.

Is this REALLY the Best Beverage in Indiana?

Place your bets. What is the best beverage in Indiana? Perhaps you might think that it is beer, sweet tea, Coke, Mt. Dew, maybe even a milkshake? Nope. Reader's Digest claims that the best beverage in Indiana is none other than WATER!

Water. Really? Are we that basic in Indiana? For the record, Indiana was the only state to have water listed as its best beverage. Now, I know drinking plenty of water is good for the body to hydrate, however, is that Hoosiers' go-to drink? I have a hard time believing that when folks in Indiana open up the fridge or go out to eat, they look for water. Unless we are just really cheap and want to save money going out to eat by ordering free water.

In any event, here's what Reader's Digest had to say:

Lest we forget the foremost way to hydrate, Hoosiers have hailed H2O as their official state beverage since 2007, the only member of the union to pay homage to the very essence of life.

Look, I think we all can agree that this isn't the best beverage in Indiana. It's the most beneficial, sure, but as far as Hoosiers' go-to, I don't think so. But what would you say is Indiana's best beverage? You already know my vote.
