Indiana State Trooper Wows At Pacers Game

The list of truly iconic national anthem performances is short, but this one stands out for a different reason. It's not every day we see a man or woman in uniform successfully delivering our country's anthem. For me, these particular performances are even more powerful, as these individuals are civic service members, putting their lives on the line for our everyday freedoms. Indiana State Trooper Kevin King performed the national anthem in early December before an Indiana Pacers-Chicago Bulls matchup. Needless to say, he wowed! His vocals were precise, his tone flawless, and my favorite part...his dedication to the performance. You can tell Trooper King is proud to be an American. With the precision of each note he hits and his composure throughout the delivery, his performance is what one would expect from a trooper of his caliber. Not to mention, he shows no nervousness, as if he's done this a hundred times before. Don't take my word for it, see the performance here:

What Is The Best Performance Of The National Anthem?

There are several noteworthy performances of the National Anthem, but only a handful stand out in the crowd. Without question, Whitney Houston's 1991 Super Bowl performance is my all-time favorite, and according to statistics, I'm not alone. Jimi Hendrix's electrifying Woodstock performance is another one that paved the way for stand-outs. Marvin Gaye has been credited with a stellar, smooth, soulful R&B performance at the 1983 NBA All-Star game. Other memorable performances over the years have come from the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera, and Billy Joel.  As a country fan, I'm partial to Chris Stapleton's more recent and traditional Super Bowl performance, which you can see for yourself below.
