I slept in a bit this morning. My neighbors were setting off fireworks pretty late last night, so I took the chance to catch up on some much-needed sleep. Naturally, the first thing I did when I woke up was check my phone. I was bracing myself for a flood of lost dog and cat posts, but instead, everyone was talking about a lost horse.

As a horse owner, I knew I couldn’t just stay in bed. A loose horse isn’t just stressful for the owner, it can be really dangerous, both for the horse and for anyone nearby.
