It’s A Great Day To Be A Hoosier
Hoosier Football Prepares For Historic Postseason
It's always a great day to be an Indiana Hoosiers fan, but today is just a little bit sweeter. Let's take a look at how spectacular the University's athletics are doing right now. The big headline from the weekend is the record-setting football team, ending the regular season undefeated for the first time in the school's history. Additionally, they beat longtime rival Purdue University to bring home the Old Oaken Bucket, a rivalry tradition. This statistic, naturally, means there's been a lot of postseason firsts for the Hoosier football team. Another first comes this weekend as the Hoosiers will be playing in the Big Ten Conference Championship this Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the first time. The scoop on that can be found here. Check out these highlights from the game:
Football Isn't The Only Team Ruling The Campus
Football isn't the only sport boasting Hoosier pride right now. The women's volleyball team is not only playing in the NCAA tournament for the first time in 15 years, but with their 23-7 regular-season record, Bloomington's Wilkinson Hall will be hosting the first two rounds of the tournament. Additionally, the team broke single-season records for regular-season wins (23), road wins (9), and Big Ten wins (14). For ticket information regarding the volleyball tournament, check out the Hoosier Volleyball Team page. While fall sports continue to excel, the basketball program is also making a name for itself (again). Going into last weekend, both men's and women's programs were undefeated. Unfortunately, the unranked women's team lost to the 10th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones on Sunday, bringing their nearly flawless record to 7-1. On the flip side, the men's team is still holding strong, remaining undefeated for the start of the season. In his first season as coach, Darian DeVries certainly seems to be the coach Hoosier fans have been hunting for since The General's departure. However, the season is young and the challenges of the schedule have yet to appear. You can find the full schedule, ticket information, and all things Hoosier Men's Basketball here.
