We here in the Evansville area know how awesome Holiday World and Splashin' Safari are. I mean, you have the free unlimited soft drinks, award-winning rides in both parks, free sunscreen, and not to mention, it's all just a short drive away. Holiday World is no stranger to getting a national spotlight. The theme park has won several awards in the past, and now they have received a record-breaking nine nominations in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. But in order for them to win, they need your votes.

Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Nominated for Two USA Today’s 10 Best Awards

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is up for multiple USA Today’s America’s Top 10 Polls in their "Readers Choice Awards". A panel of experts selects the top 20 nominees in contests covering food, lodging, destinations, travel gear, things to do...the list goes on. Then it's up to you to make the final decision by casting your vote. So, what awards are Holiday World and Splashin' Safari up for in the USA Today Polls?

Again, this is a record-breaking year for Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, with a total of nine nominations. The parks in Santa Claus, Indiana, have never received this many nominations from the USA Today 10 Best Awards. According to a press release from Holiday World & Splashin' Safari:

“We’ve never had this many nominations in a year, let alone all at once!” said Leah Koch-Blumhardt, Director of Communications and Fourth-Generation Owner at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. “We’re honored to receive this recognition from industry experts, and we hope everyone will help us reach the top by voting daily–especially for best water park and best water coaster.”

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari have received nine nominations in the following six categories:

• Best Theme Park – Holiday World

• Best Outdoor Water Park – Splashin’ Safari

• Best Water Coaster – Cheetah Chase, Mammoth, Wildebeest

• Best Roller Coaster – The Voyage

• Best Lazy River – Bahari River

• Best Wave Pool – Bahari Wave Pool, The Wave

Voting for USA TODAY’s 10Best Awards began Monday, March 24, at 12:00 PM EDT, and it will run until Monday, April 21, at 11:59 a.m. EDT. The top 10 winners in each category, as determined by reader votes, will be announced on Wednesday, April 30, at noon EDT.
