I'm no stranger to talking about my love for Halloween, but what I really appreciate about Holiday World's Happy Halloween Weekends is that they are truly family-friendly events. The park is decked out in spooky fun, but it's not scary, so you can take your kids and not have to worry about needing to pay for their therapy later in life.

Happy Halloween Weekends, Nominated by USA Today

USA Today is hosting another round of its Readers' Choice awards, they have selected 20 Halloween-themed events from around the country and are putting them to a vote to find the best in the nation.  Holiday World is up against big names in the industry like Disney and Universal.  While Disney and Universal may have the name recognition, what they don't have is the same charm as Santa Claus, Indiana, and I'll stand by that!

Here is what USA Today has to say about Holiday World's Happy Halloween Weekends:

Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari offer a milder take on theme park Halloween events, with more of a focus on family-friendly fun than intense scares. Take in seasonal decorations and Halloween-themed shows and attractions suitable for all ages like hayride adventures, 12 acres of corn mazes, rides, and trick-or-treating opportunities. Older kids and adults can travel through Carnival Chaos, an abandoned carnival full of startling surprises.

Voting is open now and you can vote once per day for Holiday World, so cast your vote now, and let's get them named the best in the country!

LOOK: How Many of These Classic Summer Toys Do You Remember?

If you grew up in the Wild West of the '60s, '70s, or '80s, summer toys were a lifeline because many of us were locked outside (until the street lights came on). Inside was no place for a kid! Check out these classic summer toys that kept us cool, kept us busy, and always seemed to add a dash of danger.
