A new baby formula recall was issued over the weekend. Here's what you need to know.

We live in a world where it seems like there's a new recall practically every day. Whether it be a recall on vehicles, home appliances, food, or drinks, there are a lot of them. However, it's not every day that a recall comes along that I'm nervous about when I first see it. As the proud father of a two-month-old, I know the stresses of formula. First off, it's very expensive. Secondly, if you have a child who is sensitive to certain types of formula, you are limited to what you can actually get them. That's why seeing a recall on baby formula can be a little scary. So, let's get into this specific recall.

Nara Organics Baby Formula Recall

According to a notice posted over the weekend from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Nara Organics issued the recall after an outbreak of infant botulism across several states. Those who aren't familiar with infant botulism, the Cleveland Clinic says:

Infant botulism is a rare, life-threatening condition that can cause a slow form of paralysis in infants. This form of botulism affects babies under 1 year old.

It starts with subtle signs like constipation or weak crying, but it can lead to muscle weakness and trouble breathing. While it can be life-threatening, they say that early treatment is key, and most babies make a full recovery. Still, when it comes to our babies, nothing is more important than their health and safety.

Where Was the Recalled Baby Formula Sold?

Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula was distributed nationally across Target retail stores, Target.com, and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026, according to the notice from the FDA.
