Illinois Coaster Voted Best New Attraction Has 171-Foot Dive
There are few things more fun than a good rollercoaster. There's one new coaster in Illinois that has wowed many with a massive 171 foot dive which was part of the reason it was just voted one of the best new theme park attractions in America.
Have you ridden the new Wrath of Rakshasa that made its debut this past summer at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois?
This new coaster made it's debut in 2025 and was just named one of the 10 best new theme park attractions in America by readers of USA Today. It holds two world records including the steepest drop at a stomach-churning 96 degrees and it's 5 inversions are the most for one ride in the world. That first drop is a daunting 171 feet begins near the beginning of the ride after you slowly make that first steep climb.
Like many steel coasters, the ride seems smooth overall although you don't get much time to recover from that drop which lowers your stomach to your feet as the first of those 5 inversions begins immediately afterward. Still, if you seek theme park thrills, you could do a lot worse than this new ride at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois.
