Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Expands in Illinois
Dolly Parton is as popular today as she has ever been. Seems like most everything she’s involved with becomes successful, and she keeps building on her substantial legacy.
Dolly helps young kids in several countries get books to lean into reading
A Hall of Fame music career, an amusement park, an entertainment venue, restaurants, a water park, resorts and also a program to facilitate getting young children all over the world books to read. Her brand is varied and vast.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library just opened in Will County Illinois. It’s a free book-gifting program that will send children books that are age-appropriate for storytelling and learning for kids up to 5 years old. The program can be implemented anywhere, and currently is being used in five different countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and Canada in addition to the USA.
Run through the Dollywood foundation, the program works with local and county officials to help kids start compiling their own library at home. The Imagination Library has been implemented statewide in Missouri as of 2024. In Illinois it has expanded to 40 plus counties. You can check to see if your county (in any state) is onboard with the program, and register your child to receive books too.
